L2Cache keeps your history on your Mac. The app has no account, sends nothing to servers of ours, and contains no analytics or tracking. A few features connect to the internet, and they are listed below.

What the app stores, and where

Your history — clipboard items, screenshots and the text in them, terminal commands, Git activity and coding-agent sessions — is stored in a database on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/L2cache/. We don't operate any server that receives it, and we can't see it.

Sensitive items

Sensitive items are detected on your Mac and stored as hidden, locked entries. Detected categories include API keys (OpenAI, GitHub, Stripe, AWS, Slack and others), credit card numbers, PEM private keys and certificates, US Social Security numbers, Wi-Fi credentials, and secret or password assignments in config and environment files. Their content is never shown in plain text — unlocking requires Touch ID or your login password — and it is never sent to any of the services below.

AI processing

Titles, tags and transforms are produced on your Mac, by Apple Intelligence (on-device, where your Mac supports it), a local Ollama model that you run yourself, or built-in rules. L2Cache does not send your history to cloud AI services.

Features that connect to the internet

Analytics

The app contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs. Our website, l2cache.app, uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits without cookies. It has no access to anything in the app.

Data sharing

We don't sell or share data, and we never receive your history. When you use one of the features above, the request goes directly from your Mac to that service.

Children's privacy

L2Cache does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ on the Mac App Store.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and note the change in the app's release notes.
